The Library in Choszczówka wins the President of Warsaw’s Architecture Award
We received the Architectural Award of the President of Warsaw! Two of them, in fact 🙂 The jury recognized the library we designed in Choszczówka (Warsaw, Białołęka district) in the Public Architecture category, as well as for its accessibility solutions. Thank you!
In the 10th edition of the competition, many public projects were submitted. For the first time, the jury decided to award two ex aequo prizes in this category — honoring two projects of very different scales: the large building of the Museum of the Polish Army at the Warsaw Citadel, and the small, timber-built public library in Choszczówka.
The library was recognized for its functionality, accessibility, and architectural beauty that challenges stereotypes about timber frame technology. The building is a kind of ecological manifesto and can serve as a lesson in how to build better and more wisely.
