We got the Architectural Award of the President of Warsaw! Actually, we got two 🙂
The jury appreciated the library in Choszczówka (Warsaw Białołęka), designed by us, in the category of Architecture of Public Utility, as well as the category awarded for accessibility solutions. Thank you!!!
From the justification of the jury:
“The library was awarded for the functionality, accessibility and beauty of the architecture that breaks the stereotypes about frame technology. The building is a kind of an ecological manifesto and can serve as a lesson on how to build better and smarter.”
In the 10th edition of the competition, many public investments were submitted. For the first time, the competition jury decided to award as many as two awards ex aequo in this category. This honors two investments of different scales: the large building of the Museum of the Polish Army in the Warsaw Citadel and the small, timber public library in Choszczówka.
We received the award together with the investor, Mayor Jan Mackiewicz, representing the Białołęka District Office. Our sincere congratulations to all the winners!
PS: We received the award for the library in… the (National) Library. In addition, on Book Day. <3
