The Faculty of Architecture Conference at the Warsaw University of Technology – Redefining cities in view of climatic changes – is returning for the second consecutive year. This time, the founder and director of Ambient, Magda Pios, will be present. The event aims to find answers to the ongoing climate crisis in the context of urban architecture. At the same time, issues related to the pandemic, refugee crisis, the threat of sudden disconnection from conventional energy sources, and inclusivity in the city will be addressed.
In her presentation, Magda will discuss the realities of designing public buildings from wood in Poland. She will focus on practical aspects, drawing on her experience working on the Choszczówka Library, which is currently under construction, as well as (still in the design phase) the country’s first wooden office building. Magda’s presentation will be available on the first day of the conference, December 7, 2023, at 3:30 PM.
