We are very pleased to announce that the Library in Choszczówka, designed by the Ambient studio, has been recognized in the PLGBC Polish Green Building Council Awards 2023 competition in the Best Environmental Project category. The jury appreciated the building for both environmental and aesthetic aspects. Veronika Themerson, Director of the Environmental Center of Excellence in Skanska’s CEE office development business unit and a member of the competition jury, justifies the selection as follows:
“The award […] was given for the attractive combination of architectural form, beautiful in its simplicity, with advanced technical systems supporting sustainable construction. The project proves that it is possible to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save potable water consumption, use renewable energy sources, or construct a public building in prefabricated wood construction, while providing the user with comfortable, nature-giving, multifunctional spaces. […] A return to nature in beautiful style.”
The award gala was hosted by Alicja Kuczera, Managing Director of PLBGC, and the awarded library was represented by Jan Mackiewicz, Deputy Mayor of Bialoleka, responsible for cubic investments, and Magdalena Pios, founder of AMBIENT.
Thank You and congratulations to all the winners!
